Selena Quintanilla Perez: Queen of Tejano Music Selena Quintanilla Perez as we may all know has taken us away with her voice, music, and her beauty. Selena grew up in Lake Jackson, TX with her parents, and her siblings. Selena’s dad wanted her to embrace her culture and create a band called Selena y Los Dinos. The band quickly grew and the iconic singer was name the Queen of Tejano Music. Selena was especially known for how kind, helpful and successful artist she was. Selena is a cultural icon, especially for latinos who look up to her. People saw her as someone who embraced her culture and followed her dreams.
