Before we further more explain what was previously listed it is good to describe what life was like for women before these contributions to changes. Before these changes most women were stuck living the domestic or homemaker lifestyle while only few worked. Now that we have explained what life was like for women before the changes it is time to explain the contribution to changes. Betty Friedan was one of the many founders of NOW and is most noted for writing “The Feminine Mystique”. The founders of NOW proclaimed that “the time has come for a new movement toward true equality for all women in America, to take action to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American society now.” And their focus was to do exactly that. Jane Roe was the anonymous name for Norma McCorvey whom was a divorced mother that sued the state of Texas for the right to have an abortion. The case was called Roe V. Wade and the end result was the Supreme Court ruling in favor of the plaintiff, Jane Roe.
