School law has become a very important part of our school districts over the past few decades. These laws are put into place to protect the students, faculty, staff, and parents involved in the everyday operations of our schools. For example, Brown v. Board of Education opened the doors for students of all races and nationalities to attend the same schools. So, when I was deciding which administrator I was going to interview, I decided that I should find one who has been in the school system for a long period of time. The administrator I chose was has been working in the public schools of Mississippi for thirty-four years. He spent the first eleven years of his career in the classroom teaching mathematics. Upon receiving his master’s degree and administration license, he took a job as a high school assistant principal. He stayed in that position for six years and was then given the opportunity to be the building principal for seven years. He also took a job as the county assistant superintendent for a number of years. Finally, he currently serves as an appointed administrator from the State of Mississippi to oversee the transition from a county that was taken over to being released by the state of Mississippi school board.
