The more we are able to study about our ancestors the more information we can learn about our past and if what we have thought to be truth really is or not. Knowing our history is such a vital part of our person. If we have come across new information that could possibly disprove something that we have been believing as truth and is ultimately not true, then that is crucial information to our history and there should be a substantial study done. Everyone should want to know the truth and whether what we have believed for this long is truth or fiction. I am not disregarding the fact that the Indians have these oral stories that have been passed down from their forefathers and that is what they believe. I merely believe and just like in court cases today word of mouth and eyewitness testimony are the most unreliable. We should not rely solely on these stories, but we should put trust in these amazing new research tools that we have. The Indians should want to know about the past and if they truly believe that they are the first settlers then they should have no problem continuing with the archaeological study of these remains. I believe that they are worried that with the study of these new bone findings that their title as the first settlers is being threatened.
