Kantian ethic is based upon the well-known teaching of the German philosopher, Immanuel Kant. He believes that actions are neither morally right nor wrong. Unethical actions are absolutely not allowed, even when this action results in more happiness rather than sadness. When taking an action, we should consider what would happen if everyone took that course of action? I ake a course of action, we must be careful because the consequences of our action are often beyond our control. For instance, if everyone lied, no one could ever be trusted. So should we lie? “Absolutely not!”
Kantian ethics to me is a concept base on morals, values, and principles. How you treat others, how you behave and the choice we make identifies what kind of person that we really are. Kant argued that “rational human beings should be treated as an end in themselves and not as a means to something else.” Whether a person is enjoying their life, or making other people’s better. Apply the following example to determine if my action was morally right, wrong or permissible: I saw some very pretty flowers in the park and I picked some and took them home. I then ask if everyone were to do this, there would be no flowers left to beautify the park and my actions contradict my motive for picking the flowers.
