Juan ponce de leon was born a spanish nobility in 1460. He served as a page in the royal court of Aragon. When he was done he went fighting as a soldier in a spanish campaign against the Moors in Granada. He may have accompanied Christopher Columbus on a voyage to the new world which is now puerto rico in 1493. He lead an expedition to the coast of what's now Florida.
