Christopher Columbus came to the Americas in 1492. Columbus shared a lot of resources with the native people who first lived in the Americas. Christopher Columbus brought slaves back. He also gave new diseases to the native people. Columbus was a very strong leader, . Christopher Columbus was perceived as a bad person but he helped formed the United Stated today Christopher Columbus brought back native people to spain. He wanted them to enslave them. In a diary that he wrote columbus stated “They should be good servants...our lord pleased, will take hence, at the time of departure, six natives for your highness. In this statement Christopher Columbus is trying to help the King and Queen of Spain. Even though bringing back the slaves were wrong he was trying to make resources of the items that he found. Columbus made a promise to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand that he would bring gold and other important resources. He did not want to come back to Spain with nothing in his hands. Even though the the animals brought diseases, they contribute to the modern people. Pigs and Horses have many uses now and back then. When horses were first brought to the Americas they were adopted by the Native Americans. The Native Americans used horses for transportation and everyday. The pigs were not used back then because of religious reasons but they are used in modern times, Today we use pigs for food. If Columbus did not bring pigs we would not have some of the foods that we have to. This is an example of a positive impact that Columbus brought to the New World. Columbus brought other resources such as plants and fruits. Columbus brought wheat to the Americas. He also brought bananas. The foods that Columbus brought to the new world are still used today. If he did not bring this stuff we would not have many of the resources that we have
