The research topic being examined is the relationship in drug use within young adults specifically ages 18 to 25 years old. The purpose for this study is to analyze the types of drugs young adults use whether the drug is prescribed or not and exactly what is the cause for the drug use. Could it be stress? Could it peer pressure? Or perhaps could anxiety, bipolar or any other disorder causing young adults to result to drug use. The primary issues that will be focused on for this research topic is what causes young adults turn to drug use, how are they influenced by the drug use, and treatments they can receive to help cope with the drug use.
The research conducted will be academic and scholars studies that have analyzed the relationship with young adults and drug use.

Introduction
The nonmedical use of prescription drugs (NMUPD) is reported by approximately 15.7 million people annually, making it the most prevalent class of illicit drug use other than marijuana (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA], 2013). Drug use among young adults could be due to various amounts of reasons. Specifically within the ages of 18 to 25 years old, young adults are emerging into adulthood. Young adults are dealing with changes and adapting to a new lifestyle such as: working and studying fulltime, one can also have a family to support while working as well.
