I’m referring to the physical borders built to stop illegal migration. The border between American and Mexico alone violates over 20 environment protecting acts like The Endangered Species Act and The National Environmental Policy Act. The environmental effects of migration are seen locally with the destruction of land to build more home for these migrants and since Miami seems to be a hotspot for migration from the Caribbean when the migrant population is added to Miami’s population you can see how densely populated it is so the environment begins to be harmed by the pollution and over use of resources. Globally, migration happens all over the world to all places of the world and cities like Istanbul and London who have large foreign-born population experience the same issues as Miami: pollution, depletion of natural resource, destruction of land to build homes and risk of exceeding carrying capacity. My personal solution for this problem is to put limitations on the number of migrants that can live urban
