Since the government has decided to take action there has been progress. The occurrences of rape are decreasing. The Violence Against Women Act helps victims with legal aspects. VAWA provides victim’s with necessary services, such as legal services. When there is an increase in the quantity of available legal services to victims, intimate partner decreases (CCADV). This proves that when men know that there can and will be consequences for their actions their behavior is better.
