Violence On Campus Essay

The thought of getting shot on campus is a horrific thing that no student wants to think about. That’s the problem with American “intervention” the only answer to ending violence is by adding more violence. Instead of spending billions of dollars in foreign land, why doesn’t the United States use that money to add self-defense programs at public intuitions, instead saying “go buy a gun and if someone tries to shot you, shot back.” Or why not increase school funding’s to ensure that college campuses nationwide have an accurate amount of law enforcement and security. Even if the security guards are unarmed, shooters are less likely to go through with their plans, when a guard is present. Not only for the soldiers, but also for the leaders of the nations, children, and non-military member women. Of course, soldiers have something to fear they are participating in combat, and the leaders of the government fear losing their positions. Children don’t understand war, so what child wouldn’t be afraid of dying, losing a loved one or being a teenager drafted to war. Those are all difficult things to deal with, but women have to deal with that and more. When soldiers from foreign lands arrive, women fear getting raped. Rape happens to men, but not nearly as often as it accords with women. Stories have surfaced about rapes that took place during World War II, in fact, it has been said that US soldiers raped thousands of women by the end of that war. German women experienced US soldiers entering their homes, searching for them, so that they can have their way with the women. This resulted in hundreds of war babies belonging to American Soldiers, babies that are not talked about here in the United States.
