There is at least one public hospital in every major town and in the average size towns as well. In this type of setting is where I am reiterating my statement from above in regards to what is covered due to the inadequate funding the Subsidized Regime gets. These public hospitals will only offer free services for the most basic of needs. Everything else will not be free. The patient’s family is responsible for patient care rather than a nurse or orderly. The family is to provide the patient with food, toilet paper, blankets as well as their pillows. You as patient will be responsible to pay for medical supplies like stitches, bandages and any medication applied. If there are to be any type of medical imaging required this must be paid by the patient or his family beforehand, if not it may not be ordered. On top of this from my research and firsthand knowledge, the medical treatment at these public hospitals may be free but the quality of care provided here to the patient is very poor.
