The Role Of Racism In The World

Racism In The World As a Political Science major I get into arguments with people all time, about everything and anything. I cannot count how many times I have heard the words ‘this is 2014 stop with the race card’. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to others. Racism is different wherever you go in the world but always has a common factor, which is the discrimination against the minorities in a country by the majority. Racism causes hearted and fear among people and it can have extremely dangerous consequences in a society. It can cause slavery, wars, mass murders, mass rapes and it always leads to oppression and inequality. In the 21st century racism still exist; it exists as individual racism and institutional racism. It is very important to note that race is a made up term that points out the differences in people but there really is only one race, which is the human race.
A few months ago a picture begun circulating around Facebook: it was a picture of an African American women breastfeeding her child wearing her graduation cap and gown. Recently in the news there have been many cases of African American teenagers being murdered by police, when they posed no threat what’s so ever.
