Nazi Germany was a place full of racism, and hate with the German people starving and looking for someone to blame for them losing the Great War (Kramer). Many may believe that racism has ended, but unfortunately it still exists. Along with genocide which seems to be forgotten over the years. However, there are genocides still taking place in our world today (United to End Genocide). The Jewish Holocaust was started due to racism and hatred even though Judaism is a religion leading me to believe that race is just apart of social classification.

The German people accepted Jewish people as the scapegoat because they wanted someone to blame. Once the German people had a scapegoat it was not long before they started to boycott Jewish owned shops and businesses. State- sponsored riots took place which destroyed synagogues and caused the Jewish community millions in damage. The Jewish community had to pay the cost of the damages to the state (The Florida Holocaust Museum). There are prisoner identification cards in the museum that were given to anyone who was taken into the camps. On display they also have what female and male prisoners wore in the camps. Looking at the wooden soles in the shoes you can tell that they were uncomfortable to wear especially if you had to do any type of labor in them. One artifact that definitely stands out is the boxcar that is in the middle of the museum. When you turn the corner and see the boxcar you can not help but feel overwhelmed with emotions. Being there and standing in front of this boxcar which led so many people to their deaths made my eyes fill up with tears. Reading the information around the boxcar brought a feeling of sorrow to me. The fact that around 100 people were crammed into that little space is astonishing. I continued to read and found out that when the boxcar stopped for some reason if you opened the window and asked for air you were met with a machine gun, or pistol and
