This realm is dependent on minorities being uneducated and desperate.
I learned a lot with this video experience. I learned that there are a lot of people that are blind to racism. I learned that racism is taught and experienced on different levels. I also learned that there are for more people comfortable with the status quo and that change is not important to them. The video exposed how the blue eyes were either oblivious to racism or where so caught up in their privilege it simply didn’t affect them and therefore was only a problem when they were the ones affected. Racism is not something we have knowledge of at birth. It is something we are taught through family, friends, and experiences. It made me wonder how many people in my life realize racism or even experience it and on what level.
The biggest take away message for me is that even denial of racism is racism. When people act like they can choose how they see others; that’s racism. We don’t get to view people how we want and discount who they are just to make ourselves comfortable. Even though I am
