The research problem that is being investigated is if there is a racial hierarchy within the University of Missouri dependent on persons race and gender. The sociological significance of this analysis would better help us understand the racial hierarchy and try to fix the reason that we have a hierarchy in the first place. My research is based off of racial hierarchy and how it is linked to the status of people. Another reason for this study is to figure out if subconscious colorism exists within our sample. Colorism is defined as prejudice or discrimination against individual with a dark skin tone, usually found in the same race.
