Later in the year Anne Boleyn became pregnant and Henry VIII and everybody else thought that he was going to have a boy. Henry VIII had already had a girl with Catherine of Aragon name Mary I. When Elizabeth I was born she was a big disappointment to her father for one reason only. She was her father’s big disappointment because she was born as girl. When she was four years old, her brother, Edward was born. Growing up, Elizabeth was alienated and always spent her time at Hatfield House. Her lifestyle would always be changing but she was a well-educated student. She was good at music, astronomy, and math. She was also very fluent in several languages including Latin, Spanish, Italian etc. When she turned 10, her father married his sixth and final wife Kathrine Parr. That’s when Elizabeth was finally allowed in the court. Soon after, when she was 14 years old her father Henry VIII died. This made her half-brother, Edward become king at just 9 years old. Because of Elizabeth and Edward growing up close, Elizabeth had more power once Edward had more power. When her father died, Elizabeth moved in with Katherine but later moved out because of some issues. In 1553, Edward dies at just 16 years
