Pushing Daisies is a story about Ned and his relationship with his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte “Chuck” Charles. Ned uses his special ability to revive Chuck, who had been murdered. However, since Ned kept her alive over a minute someone else died in her place. The story primarily surrounds how Ned can never touch her again because if he did she would die, this time forever. In Hannibal, Will begins to lose his sanity under Dr. Lectors care, to the point where Will begins to believe he is the killer. In Pushing Daises each case is different from the previous one but Ned is constantly trying to fix the errors of his past that keep on arising. Pushing Daises is a “romance between the living and the dead” and the character Hannibal is “ a much darker side of the death coin” says Bryan Fuller the director of both shows. When someone dies in Pushing Daises and are brought to life, they tend to ignore the fact that they died a painful death and tend to be energetic, happy, angry or confused. This show also tends to have bright, happy colors while Hannibal tends to have opaque colors and with one or two light sources.
