Through religious sacraments of many kinds, peyote has been able to unlock many peoples inter connectedness to nature, each other, and the planet as a whole. This feeling of unity has expanded people’s minds in the faucets of art, literature, and the peyote view of absolute freedom and spiritual connection to the Great Spirit. Like anything, peyote, if used for the wrong reasons, can create destruction and addictive behaviors. Native Americans offered so much insight to foreign intruders over the past 200 years and were given nothing in return.
