The Program Analyst is a team member responsible for the collaborative development and coordination of national planning guidance and strategic planning efforts for the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). This position is primarily responsible for providing departmental leadership with authoritative and objectively based information for making decisions regarding the programmatic aspects of organizational operations. Accountable for all personnel and human resources functions, the evaluation each team member’s performance, the issuance of performance standards, end of year evaluations, Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), managing employee time and attendance, initiating disciplinary actions and authoring White Papers and Systematic Analysis of Operations.
Responsibilities also included ensuring that the team’s performance and quality were in alignment with the goals established for the Regional Office, reviewing and evaluating the work of subordinates such as completed rating decisions, planning, and organizing the workload of claims, directing the work and controlling the workflow on the team. Required to provide technical and administrative advice to members of the team, ensure that each member of the team received the required number of mandated training hours each fiscal year (FY) and any remedial training as required.
