The progressives and their movement attempted to fix a of problems and negativity in the industrial revolution. Some of the most common problems during the progressive era were economical and political problems. The social problems were poverty, violence, greed, racism, class warfare. The more popular people that have tried to fix social problems were journalists like Jane Addams, Jacob Riis, and and Ida Tarbell. Theses people were all powerful voices in the progressive era. The voice that had the biggest impact was Theodore Roosevelt. He became the president of the United States and changed many things during his presidency.
