Positive thinking is an extremely powerful force, one that can cause a ripple effect which can not only help an individual generate solutions and success but a whole organization. Research by Barbara Fredrickson, a psychology professor who has written at length on the subject of positivity, found that those who think positive thoughts have a greater capacity to take on new information. “Thinking more positively does not just change the contents of the mind, trading bad thoughts to good; it changes the boundaries of the mind and in that process it widens the span of possibilities.” (Fredrickson 9) This is because a positive mind is more creative. This then improves a person 's comprehension and their ability to make fast connections when troubleshooting, enabling them to better deal with problems and obstacles that occur.
