In the play the men power was reflected by how manipulated and violent Stanley was. In scene 8 when Stanley’s wife Stella order him to stop eating with his fingers and to washed the dishes he got up furious and he responded, “ Don’t ever talk that way to me! Pig-Polack-Disgusting-vulgar-Greasy! … What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? Remember what Huey Long Said – Every Man is a King and I am the King around here, so don’t forget it” (Tennessee Scene 8, 35, 1115). When Stella was at the hospital because she already has the baby, Blanche was drinking excessively when Stanley appeared. Both of them had an intense conversation that lead for Blanche to lose control. Blanche wanted Stanley to stand aside so she could pass, but Stanley thought it might not have been too bad idea to interfere with her, and so he chase her and raped her. At the end of the play Stella did not believed Blanche about Stanley raping her. Stanley convinced Stella to take Blanche to a psychiatric institution because everything that she said was a lie and she was
