I feel like poverty is viewed three completely different ways. One being that those people chose that life and if they do not want to be in it then they should get a job. Second being that the government should give away the upper class's money because they do not need it anyways. Finally third, where I am. I have seen the worst of the worst when I went to El Salvador on a mission trip ,but I have also seen the best of the best. I feel that by these definitions you can not get the full idea of what poverty really means or what it looks like. It is almost like a sickly disease that is rapidly growing all over the world. Majority of people in the world only live on a few dollars a day. Both the wealthiest nations and poorest nations see high levels of inequality. If you can believe it, 80% of the world lives on less than ten dollars a day and half of the world lives on less than two dollars and fifty cents a day. Therefore, It will not reduce poverty if minimum wage is increased because the people with those jobs mostly do not typically take care of themselves. if anything, raising the minimum wage will hurt the economy. A small number of workers without a probability of promotion are struggling to support children on a minimum wage income. Immigration puts in a huge contribution to poverty. Other things as well as race and gender make poverty increase across the world. I am so proud that our country contributes to other countries when they are in need. So many people struggle and starve everyday and at the same time they have no job opportunities to get themselves out of that situation. Poverty altogether is something that is always going to be around no matter what we do to try to fix it. I hope and pray that the government makes the right choices on where to send our
