In Plato’s allegory he begins by mentioning several individuals inside of a cave. These individuals who did get are shackled inside the cavern are to believe they are to be depended on or even slaves to their mind. Prisoners that were in the cave were not considered free at all because they are chained. This also means that they can only see the shadowy wall images, but not that actual people who created them. When these prisoners perceive a light of the fire they recognize they’ve been imprisoned, where as in the past they didn’t know. These prisoners in the cavern represent all the individuals without the knowledge of the light. These individuals would also misinterpret a presence for reality. They would assume the images that they perceive on the wall the shadows were genuine. These prisoners grasp nothing of the concept of reality because they choose to believe in the shadows. If someone were to break the chains and escape the cave, they would proceed through a lengthy expedition and uncover a more sophisticated realm. This would be a true reality, with a consciousness of Goodness as the foundation of everything that subsists.
