More than twenty-five centuries ago, a Greek philosopher named Plato introduces his idea; The Allegory Of The Cave with the intention of explaining to many societies that they are often trapped in lies as they are nurtured. As understood, the concept demonstrates how humanity is imprisoned by chains, averting their visual direction to the objects' shadows which are illuminated by fire. They have been secluded from the outside world, however, one individual has been given the freedom from the deceptive chains to discover the truth. The darkness represents the lack of intellect within the cave which consequently affects the prisoners’ sense of argument. Therefore, the perspectives of the prisoners are modified to the liking of the cave and the darkness suppresses the doubts within the minds’ of the individuals. Comparatively, as a child born into a strict, traditional family, my cave and the darkness were the dishonest impression of the caste system implemented to represent the hierarchy in our social and economical status. My parents’ families are in a highly respected class where my expectations had no contrary. As a minor, I believed that I must marry a man with the same class as my family. The shadows represent a deceptive reflection of the objects that illustrate integrity beyond the scene. The fire acts as a catalyst to the misleading reflection on the walls of the cave. Moreover, the shadows were creating a negative impression on how a certain relationship should look like. It is shown that a man and a woman with high status in society must marry rather than the subjective view of love and happiness. Love and happiness are manipulated to be believed as disastrous concepts of life.
