Imagine living a life on a Plateau in the 1400’s, no phones, computers, boats, cars, or land animals. This was the everyday life of the Plateau Indians, until the Europeans came. The Plateau Indians didn’t have any technology. They lacked land animals, but this this didn’t stop them from surviving. The Plateau Indians had many crops and there was lots of fish in the water. The region had a good climate and terrain. They lived in villages. This relates to Peter Pan because the Native Americans in the story live in villages and there aren’t a lot of land animals. The Plateau Indians’ lives were changed when the Europeans came. They got more natural resources such as horses, cows, and chickens. They were also introduced to trade. This relates to Peter Pan because in the book the Native Americans don’t have many resources until they learned what a gun was from the lost boys. The Native Americans in the book also don’t have many wild animals. Before the Europeans each person would fish or gather food every day, now the people hunt and trade. This was the life of a Plateau
