When it comes to obesity, America is at the top of the list. Obesity rates have been increasing every year, and every year more people die from obesity related diseases. The basis for this epidemic is obvious, all you have to do is take a look around you. Fast food restaurants are located on every block, advanced technology has convinced humans that they are no longer needed when it comes to hard labor, which unfortunately has made Americans more lazy; the levels of stress people gain due to this major transformation have increased. Stress is a major factor when it comes to weight gain, and excessive consuming of unhealthy carbohydrates. and do not have enough time to cook at home which induces them to grab a meal from a local restaurant thats cheap and fast like McDonald’s. Since parents are at work all day the children will not have anything to eat at home so what do they do? They also go out and consume unhealthy foods such as a hamburger, fries, and also a side drink. Lets just say an average meal from Mcdonalds is a big mac, large fries, and a large soda. If you were to eat that meal you would be consuming about 1,320 unhealthy calories (Mcdonald’s). That is just one meal, imagine eating three meals a day from fast food places. A person should change their lifestyle and perform more physical activity to eliminate obesity from their lives. It is not in the quantity of foods you eat, it’s in the quality of food consumed.
Things like changing eating habits and increasing the amount of exercise are very essential to one’s weight control. People need to be responsible for what they eat because if they continue eating fast food it can be very detrimental to their health. A major problem that can occur from obesity related diseases is death. We cannot make people take full responsibility for their overweight problems. The fast food industry is also to be blamed because of the food they present even when they know it 's harmful to humans due to the preservatives injected into fast
