North Korea is disliked by many nations in the world especially the west such as France, the United Kingdom, the United States, etc. Countries that fear the start of WW3 include American allies Japan and South Korea. In the Korean War, North Korea has invaded the south, as a result dividing Korea up into two. If North Korea gets the ability to create an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), they are a deadly threat to the the United States. An ICBM has a minimum range of 3,500 miles (5,600 km), and even if North Korea’s ICBM does not reach the U.S. they could reach many European countries threatening them if they got involved in trying to stop North Korea in attacking close by U.S. allies such as Japan or South Korea. As a result, this could tragically cause WW3 with nuclear weapons involved leading to a total destruction of humanity. Countries allied with North Korea possess nuclear weapons as well. For example, China is one of two countries (the other being Russia) that can strike mainland U.S. from their own territories. The GDP per capita for North korea was $583.00 USD per year in 2014. This means the average citizen lives on an average of $583.00. As a result, much of the population is lacking in wealth and the necessity to sustain a healthy population to fuel its military if that is North Korea’s goal. In comparison, Canada’s GDP per capita was $42,157.93 USD per year in 2016; this means Canada’s GDP per capita is over x72 greater than North Korea’s. Furthermore, without proper funding of the population, revolutions may happen in the future. For instance, many diseases or illnesses that are generally rare in the west may become more common in North Korea. The citizens are clearly having their international rights violated. For instance, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) article 3 states, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of a person.” Article 3 is being violated if the Oakes Test is applied; the the positives effects of North Korea’s law does not outweigh the negatives because citizens are forced to embrace government media, therefore restricting them of their right to life and forcing them to believe in the propaganda. As a result, this could lead the population to being prone to becoming sick without proper funding of healthcare
