Personal Narrative: The Epidemic Of Illegal Immigration

Improved Essays
Illegal immigration has spread all over the world uncontrollably and rapidly. I’m a victim who has survived from the last sinking boat in Egypt. People, nowadays, have nothing to talk about except illegal immegrants, and who is the one who is mistaken in these situations. As a victim, I’m going to tell you who’s the mistaken one ,and who’s the one responsible for all of the loses.

It all started four months ago when a group very poor people , I am one of them , went to a smuggler to make a deal with him to travel to Italy with a boat. The smuggler told us that each person has to pay 40,000 L.E in order to arrive to Italy safely. The smugglers words were very convincing to all of us; thus, we brought the money within only two weeks. Everyone thinks that it’s easy for us to be convinced , but this isn’t true. We are well educated, we’ve went to schools and colleges. However, because of our financial status most people put us in a lower category that we are actually in. Additionally , our goal isn’t to cause our county great loses , but it’s to live peacefully , freely, safely, and without anyone making fun of our conditions.

As I stated before, our purpose isn’t causing our country any harm, it’s to live freely, and peacefully. I know that this is not the right way to reach my goal , but I cannot live in my country without taking all of my rights. It is not even fair to live in your country with people underestimating my abilities ,and people who create huge gaps between he/she and I. It’s my right to disagree upon how the government forces me to live. Sitting in the bus for our way to go to the boat, there was a 14 year old boy sitting next to me. I started a conversation with him asking where are his parents , the answer was “my parents collected money for me and they told me that I’m going to Italy on my own to work there and send the money to pay back their debts the they’ll come after me.” I asked him “ Do you go to school?” He answered with a yes and told me that he was planning to become doctor , but his parents told him that he has no future in this country. We arrived and everything was going well.

We moved with the boat and after around an hour and a half. It was very dark, extremely cold, and there was not enough food nor water. Suddenly the boat’s engine stopped . Then the boat began to sink . We all felt that these are our last breaths. It wasn’t just a feeling it was something that we were all sure of. I saw many people sinking beside me. People were dying and I couldn’t help anyone. Four people and I were the only people who survived. Hana elshamy Page 1 illegal immigration The government says that we are the ones who are mistaken because we’re going against the law. On the other hand, us, the victims, totally disagree because we’re forced to be different by them . it’s also our right to fight for our rights. Before the government comes and put us in prison they must know that they are the reason why all of this happened. As a government representor I’d like to explain the issue from our point of view, or the right point of view. The government is doing all it can do and it’s dedicating all its effort for the citizens and the countries’ comfort. Everyday a large group of us don’t sleep to serve people. People must notice that we too have families to take care of, and spend time with. Everyday at least ten of our colleagues die in front of our eyes. After all of these loses in our lives and of these efforts we do, people still intend to put the blame on us in everything. Even in illegal immigration the immigrants accuse us that we’re the one who made them act tat way. They always say that we don’t give them jobs, we don’t afford them a good quality of living,

One of the most controversial topics in the United States, among government parties and citizens alike, is the issue of immigration. In a country composed of 316,128,839 citizens, 41,348,066 of those citizens are foreign-born (FAIR). While this number is less than ten percent of the entire population, it is believed that there are around 12 million more people living in the U.S undocumented. In other words, they are illegal aliens. The people who come to America, whether legally or illegally, come seeking job opportunities and the ability to support their family.…

Unfortunately there are people in this country that believe illegal immigration is ok, and that Americans are just complaining about illegal immigration. However, the people who complain that illegal immigration is wrong are the people who are right. The twelve million illegal immigrants cause large amounts of trouble in America, because the cost to care for them is extremely expensive, their commitment of crime is high, and the deportation costs are minimal.…

Mankind has transformed the world with historical milestones, yet with such great accomplishments and evolving knowledge; history still repeats itself. Government officials and we the people of the United States are embedded in the failing cycle of migrants entering our country illegally. Reformed immigration laws have been passed but stand ineffective since international immigrants continue to pass our borders without being held accountable for breaking our laws. Unlike the United States, Canada’s strict immigration laws are enforced and citizenships are still easily obtained. I am disgusted with the number of illegal immigrants that have crossed our borders without citizenship.…
