I am aware that maintaining fitness is a key factor for the career I want to pursue. I keep up with current affairs and watch specific programmes associated with the policing sector, I feel this is imperative as it allows me to enhance my knowledge. In addition, I hold a part time job as well as my studies as a waitress. I have a willingness to work weekends, as I am efficient and have good personal presentation skills.
As part of Sociology, one of the modules that I am currently studying is titled ‘crime and deviance’; this is where I will investigate reasons for deviation from the law, patterns and trends and of crime and how these have changed over time. I am also looking into surveillance, prevention and punishment techniques, along with social order and control. Upon completing these studies, I am hoping to have a much clearer and in depth understanding of crime in our society, how it occurs and why.
From a health and social care perspective, I am currently studying a mental health module which will give me an insight into misconception of those who deviate from societies norms and may often be considered to commit criminal offences.
I have completed a primary school placement; this gave me an insight into working in the public sector from an educational
