T.E.A.M, together everyone achieves more. This is a common saying in the modern world today, but it was used in theory in the past as well. We have adapted a helpful and selfless manner in our lifestyle today. In John Hersey’s Hiroshima, we learn we need to come together as a community to overcome tragedy.
In the book Miss Sassaki was very hurt and people set out to help her. In the text it says “ The men lifted her out at a relief stadium in the section of Inokuchi where two Army doctors looked at her” (55). So though she is not the only one that they have a working system put in place is very hopeful. It is not that the fact that she got help that makes this hopeful, but that these men went out of there way to help. Several states and associations in the U.S contributed in the help of the rebuild and recovery of Houston. CNN says that “Businesses donated over $157 million to Harvey relief efforts”. Even normal people donated and even went to the extent of going to Houston themselves to help them out. There is plenty of hope for the strength the U.S because we know we will help each other as a nation for the greater good of the nation.
So in conclusion John Hersey’s Hiroshima we learn that as a nation or community we are better if we work together. So this just reminds that we can’t be selfish anymore due to the fact that life will throw anything and everything at you to put you down but we must remember that we have people to help us through
