Destruction: the action or process of causing much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired -Google . Othello is a play written by William Shakespeare, it takes place in the 16th century in between the war of Venice and Turkey. In the play Othello, the protagonist Othello is faced with destruction, but not physical destruction, more mental and emotional destruction. In Othello Iago the antagonist puts Othello through the worst time of his life by setting up Cassio to make it seem as if Othello 's newly wedded wife Desdemona is cheating on Othello with one of his coworker Cassio. Iago does this because Iago originally wanted the position that Othello gave to Cassio so Iago becomes very jealous and wants Cassio dead. Iago uses his devious master plan to make Othello want Cassio to die and to have revenge on Othello for not choosing Iago. making the man jealous. Jealousy in a mans heart can be the one thing the destroys his world. This can be proven because in Othello the main character and other characters show 'how jealousy can drive them insane and make them do things that they would never Imagine doing themselves. This is also proven in reality in my life and in society.
In Othello Shakespeare proves that jealousy is a weapon of mass destruction of emotion and mental pain through the text. The biggest part in the story that jealousy is shown is in the ending, mainly because this is were Othello kills his wife because of Iago 's trickery.…
