Organizational Impact Paper Innovation is what gives an organization the competitive advantage the business will need to be successful in the market. Innovations are ideas that can impact the strategy, process, products and services that an organization has to offer to its customers. Three organizations that have an enormous impact on innovation are United Parcel Service (UPS), Hewlett-Packard and The Coca-Cola Company.

Hewlett-Packard has always been an innovative company with the products and services that they offer. The company has developed software applications to optimize the performance of hardware and differentiate it from its competitors in the marketplace. Over the past three years HP has acquired 26 companies, developing experience in integrating new businesses (EDS, 2008). The company has managed to earn a profit in these tough economic times because of its diverse customer base, broad portfolio, and numerous cost initiatives (Edwards, 2008). The company made a commitment three years ago to focus on design and innovation in the PC replacement market by offering devices such as touch screen PC’s and easy to use software (Edwards, 2008). This has enabled the company to gain market share from its competitors such as Dell and Toshiba (Edwards, 2008). The company has also focused on innovation in printers and services that has helped boost consumer and business interest (Edwards, 2008). Hewlett-Packard recently announced the launch of the first multi touch enabled notebook PC, the tx2. The tx2 is a convertible notebook which can pivot 180 degrees or lie flat like a tablet PC (Hesseldahl, 2008). HP will continue to remain innovative and stay profitable by cutting costs and staying ahead of the competition.
