Starting with his guardian. Although Joey is responsible for the relationship that takes place with his guardians, his guardian should share in the responsibility as well, as they should be the authority figure. Therefore, Joey needs to establish a relationship with them to have a better living environment. Thus, he must learn to respect authority, as well as they, need to work together himself and his guardian to find a way to have a healthy relationship. Joey’s guardian does not have a relationship of respect with him, and that is why he doesn’t attend class and complete his work when he should. Joey has also watched his parents in criminal activities such as robbery and the use of drugs. Joey and his family need family therapy also individual sessions. They need to come together in the group session to establish what are the primary issues that are preventing the family to live and function in a healthy relationship.
