Unit 2: Engage in Personal Development in Health and Social Care Settings

My job requires that I am personally responsible to uphold the statement of values in all areas of my work. I have to provide emotional and educational support and demonstrate a caring attitude towards others which is based on respect dignity and equality.
I plan organise and implement activities within my service, following risk assessments.
I, as with any member of staff am involved in the planning and delivering of learning programmes which support personal and behavioural change, with direction and support from my senior.

We have regular staff meetings with out HOS where progress is discussed and you get to know about any new plans and any changes that are going on, and to talk about any concerns we have with individuals we support.
Going on various training courses to improve development, and to make sure that training is up to date and relevant.
The constant reflection on my work helps me to plan different ways of doing things and helps me to see progression. I constantly worry that I am not doing my job properly. This is usually more obvious to me when sat with the Senior member of staff and discussing our previous supervision.
A lot of our training is via e-learning, which outlines the standards we should be working to.

I would have to say that this wasn’t a recent training session, but one which I took part in around 2 years ago. I attended Linkworker Training with my Head of Service. The things that made me think about my practice stay with me until this day. It really helped me to think about the qualities that I would look for in someone who was my point of contact within my working environment. Will they listen to me? Will they have/make time for me? Will they talk to me about things that interest me? Will they have a “real” relationship with me? Will they take me seriously? But I think the most important, Can I trust that
