Many medical students are guided through medicine and when they graduated they have a diploma that certifies them as a doctor. The irony of this is doctors supposedly have degree which entitles them to cure people and tells their patients how to maintain a healthy life. The truth is many doctors don’t know how to or if they do, they do not believe in nutrition so they opt to medicine. Nutrition is defined as, “The science that investigates the relationship between physiological functions and the essential elements of food eaten.” (Donatella 263) If nutrition is the science to investigate the relationship between our body and the food we eat, then why don’t college courses teach this. In the film, it states, “Less than six percent of graduating physicians in the USA receive any formal training in nutrition.” This is alarming because a new question arises, “What are University actually teaching?” As a student, this causes me awareness because it is …show more content…
Due to many scientific and technological advances, more medicines begin to produce. Scientific and technological advances are not the problem we do need these resources but the problem is that they have manage to take on our daily lives. For instance, so and so stets, “There are twenty five percent of two ads in this country that are drug commercials. Why? It is not because they live spending a lot of money. It is because while they spend hundreds of millions of dollars on TV time, they get back billons of people buying those things because they are sick.” Meaning that through the media these drug companies have manage to give solution to many peoples how need results. Likewise, David Wolfe states, “We have been thought to be consumers. We have been taught to spend money on cars, houses, clothing…etc., but not on our health.” A major reason that our society has taught us to buy valuable objects is because it is great for our economy. The government does not want us to be worried about our health they want us to spend on material things we don’t need. Society has manipulated us in being consumers that want things instead of consuming thing for necessity. As Professor Andrew W. Saul states, “If everyone were healthy there would be no need in health. Good health makes a lot of sense, but doesn’t not make dollars.” The government allows these propagandas because through propaganda
