New York City culture has reputation of hardworking people. Also in New York city it’s a diverse place to live. In my neighborhood East New York is comprised into several subsections of the neighborhood which are City Line, New Lots, Spring Creek Cypress Hills, and Highland. It borders several neighborhoods such as Bushwick; Brownsville and Canarsie in Brooklyn as well as Lindenwood; Howard Beach; Ozone Park and Woodhaven in Queens. Although East New York is primarily African American and Hispanic, it still one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the city. East New York gets a bad reputation in the media but it’s not fair in the paint the entire neighborhood in the negativity. Overwhelming East New York is filled with good hardworking people who want to raise their families in a safe place.This connects back to NYC’s cultural fabric it could seem to get a bad reputation but it’s great place to live.

My block has variety of different cultures. You have African American, Hispanic and Asian. Neighbors on my block tend to look out for one another. They would organize block parties for the kids. Many times, there will be a celebration in the form of playing music and dance, free ice cream, and activities like pony rides, inflatables sides, basketball, popcorn machines and BBQ’s. The block is drama free their no crimes at all.
East New York has been experience revitalization in recent years like other parts of New York City. Now people are coming to East New York from other parts of the city to go to the movies, visit parks, shop and dine. More affordable housing is being built as well as a new school. Some of the East New York attributes are Gateway Plaza Malls, Highland Park, Gershwin Park, and Linden Boulevard Multiplex Cinemas. East New York also boasts many mass transit options that get you into Manhattan within 30 minutes. Close proximity to major highways and Kennedy
