The director of finance is required to meet with the state department regularly in order to stay current on financial compliance laws. The director also attends regional trainings regularly in order to make sure that the district is maintaining compliance with state and federal financial regulations. There are strict guidelines and procedures for the schools to make sure that money is being spent appropriately to best meet the needs of the students. Additionally, the district is audited each year to ensure compliance and appropriate use of funds. The financial procedures are all electronic now in order to remove a bit of human error that may have been present in the past.
