A lot of debate has come from the question, “What impression has computer-aided communication, the World Wide Web, had on the world’s social structure, and what effects will it have in the future?” Internet use has proven to have advantages and disadvantages. Some argue that Internet use has positive influences on the social structure and future by providing communication proficiency, improving individual self-esteem, enabling new opportunities for interpersonal relationships and a source for learning. Conversely, Internet use has negative influences, too. This paper proposes that Internet use has a negative influence on the social structure and future by claiming the following disadvantages: Internet use impairs communication skills; Internet use reduces social interaction, Internet use creates psychological disorders, and the Internet is a distracting to learn.
To put things into perspective, are a few key highlighted statistics. Over sixty percent of U. S. households now have a personal computer and over fifty percent have Internet access (Price, 2002). In 2012, Anxiety UK conducted a survey on social media use and its effects on emotions and learned that fifty- three percent of people reported the launch of social networking sites had changed their behavior, and of those, fifty- one percent said the impact had been
