When a consumer buys a food product and notice “natural” on the label, they automatically perceive that as no artificial, no synthetic, and no preservatives but rather produced with ingredients from nature itself. The consumer’s definition of “natural” and food industries definition of this term is extremely opposing. Every day, millions of American citizens are buying “natural” food products assuming that it is strictly natural. Consumers buy “natural” food products not only for their own health but to give their family the healthiest nourishment. When the consumer notices “natural” on their food products, they will buy the product in an instant knowing that it is fresh and straight from nature. With the term “natural” on it, consumers will most likely not read what is on the food label since we are taught as if natural was with no artificial and unaffected from human technology.
