Nat Turner
Nat Turner was born on October 2, 1800, in Southampton County, Virginia born into slavery. Nat Turner was married sometime around 1822 to Cherry Turner in the plantation of Samuel Turner. Nat Turner started one of the biggest rebellions in slave history, killing 55 white people, then running away for two months, then found and hung in Courtland, Virginia, at the Belmont Plantation owned by Dr. Samuel Blunt. Nat Turner was brought into a very religious family on the Belmont Plantation, Turner escaped slavery in 1821 from his former brothers owner John Travis.
