My Value In Life

. A very inspirational man, known as Walt Disney, once said: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” These are the words that come to mind when I think about my future and my abilities to achieve my goals. However, it was not so easy for me to discover what exactly those goals were. Then, I wrote my personal mission statement. This helped me discover who I am and the person I want to be.

There are many things I value in life, such as; my family, my education, encouragement, compassion, kindness and people who like to help others. Albert Schweitzer said: “The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.” This sums up my values and how I want to live my life. However, these are just a few examples of

Like Princess Diana I also think “Family is the most important thing in the world.” This is because they are the people that are there to comfort you and not judge you. I treasure all the time I spend with my family because I love creating memories with them that I know will last a lifetime. Although I did not see the importance of family when I was younger, I definitely do now. Growing up has taught me that this is the time when you need your family more than ever. Being in Matric, I do not get to spend as much time as I would like with them but I know they understand. That is what I value most about family. They always understand you, they are the only people I can truly be myself around and not feel judged. I trust them with every secret because I know I will not be betrayed by them. Family is there with you through all the ups and downs and unlike friends, you have a blood connection that binds you together forever. Just like Michael J. Although I have never known the struggle to not having an education at a prestigious private school, it does not mean I take my education for granted. I am extremely grateful that I have gotten the opportunity of attending a Jewish private school and that I have the option of attending a tertiary institution next year. I believe education to be the most powerful tool in the world and we should be using it more productively for example, educating those about the social ills in our country.

I value encouragement. Encouragement pushes you to achieve your goals and I value the people who give me confidence and encouragement because I know they want me to succeed. “In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can.” Quoted by, Nikos Kazantzakis. This quote is particularly encouraging because it shows that you need to believe in yourself and your abilities in order to achieve your

Family is and will always be there, whether you feel they are there or not. I can say that my family and I had our fair share of fights and bad days, but we help pick ourselves right back up and start over with each other because that’s what we do. One family to always be by your side, to always cheer you on, to tell you when you are right and wrong, and to support and love you through the good and the bad.…
