Going into high school, I did not know what profession I would like to pursue. I researched numerous careers to give myself an idea of what career I might enjoy. My freshmen year I met people who already had a vision of their future and knew everything about the career they desired. During a dentist appointment later that year, I paid close attention to what they did, how they worked together as a team, and how much they loved what they did. Although watching them was very fascinating, I researched more and more about it and I found out that it did not suit me as well I thought it would. My parents always told me to try looking into nursing because I enjoy working in a team and helping people out as much as I can. My junior year of high school, I applied for the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) class that was linked to Texas State Technical College (TSTC) and I enjoyed every second of it. Every time I went to Retama Manor Nursing Center (Retama) I wanted to stay there all day instead of the three hours I did for clinicals because it made the elderly people and I worked with lightheartedness I was able to help them out. Taking care of them either bathing, feeding, walking them around or playing a board game with them was awesome. Even though it was plenty of studying and very time consuming it worth going through different trials because I loved what I did every day.
