Mr. Shama discussed his perception of Matheus. He indicated that the child is smart.
Mr. Shama perceives the child to be very shy. The father stated that Matheus cowers at times, especially with his mother. With father he has more independence and the opportunity to be himself. With his mother there is a different experience. He is very talkative when he is comfortable. He is a great speller. He doesn’t watch a lot of television or video games. He does play Lego’s. Shama stated that the parents had cultural differences. The father stated that he was born and raised in the United States. He grew up in the Bronx, attended Catholic Elementary School. Both his parents worked and raised him. In contrast Ms. Shama was born in Brazil and raised in a small town, which was dangerous. He believed she was provincial in her mindset. Her protective upbringing has impacted her parenting. She is a helicopter parent, she has always been anxious about the child.
