For my masterwork I’ve settled on studying the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I’ve chosen him due to how legendary Mozart has been to the musical industry, and how ridiculous of lifestyle he lived. I will be covering Mozart’s life, and analyzing his composition Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, first movement. Mozart’s work was inspiring and his influences can be traced back into other musical timer periods after the classical period. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or better known as just Mozart, is a notable classical period (1750-1800) composer. Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. In Salzburg Mozart would quickly learned of his musical talents. With his father, Leopold Mozart, being a composer Mozart began a musical life style from the get go. At the tender age of 4 Mozart began lessons on the harpsichord. In the following years Mozart began creating compositions, and even symphonies. With such a talented skill set Mozart departed to publicly display his work on tour. Accompanying him during the tours was his older sister, Maria Anna, who also was taught how to play the harpsichord. Up until Mozart was 15, Mozart was primarily on the road traveling to cities to display his talents to the World. While on tour Mozart would meet famous composers like Johann Christian Bach, Giovanni Battista Martini, and Franz Joseph Haydn (Estrella).
