Life in Poland during 1942, would be a struggle. During this time Hitler had already taken over of Germany and started to invade other countries surrounding Germany, including Poland. Adolf Hitler believed all the mistakes in life were because of the Jews. So, he wanted to get rid of all of them by invading countries, and telling the Jews they were being transported but, what the Jews didn’t know is that they were going to be put in a concentration camps. In these camps, they had to work everyday and were barely feed. Unfortunately, many Jews went to these camps and worked everyday. Some Jews were put in gas chambers and were killed. Instead of working they were talking which is against the rules. The four of them were extremely nervous they were going to be killed. The soldier told them there were three empty spots in the gate, where people who didn’t follow the rules were killed. He picks three of the girls however, he did not pick Hannah. Hannah told the one girl, Rivka, to run and she’ll take her spot, and he will not know the difference between the two Jews. Later, we figure out the three girls had unfortunately passed away and Hannah went back to her normal life, in the future.
