Fahrenheit 451
In the story “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury, Montag the main character,is a firefighter in charge of burning books for a living. Montag wears a helmet that has 451 printed on the side that means, the temperature at which paper burns. Montag takes great pride in burning books, he creates a spectacle that pleases the frightened masses. Montag, would not be a good friend because of what he does for a living. Montag in the beginning of the story burns books. He has other firefighters help him with what he not supposed to be doing. He enjoys dressing in his uniform, playing the role of a symphony conductor. He was part of the system in the beginning of the story. On Montag’s way home from the fire station, he meets his new neighbor
