For example, in Fahrenheit 451, citizens aren’t allowed and don’t have enough time to digest the connotation of books, the knowledge behind each sentence. In the article, “Fast Entertainment and Multitasking in an Always-On World”, S. Craig Watkins states, “[One’s] culture may gain in information, but it will surely weaken in wisdom,” (151). Evidently, people who read books cram all the information in one’s mind, but processing it into wisdom, into comprehension, is almost impossible. Montag meets educated, graduated scholars, named “the Book People”, in the woods, hiding from the world; they want to memorize books and wedge as much information as possible in their brain to regurgitate at a later time. Ironically, Fahrenheit 451 shows how reversed Montag’s society is compared to ours; in the novel, scholars are seen as insane, lower class
