Introduction Ray Bradbury, a famous author, said, “You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.” Nonetheless, Fahrenheit 451, written by Ray Bradbury, demonstrates a futuristic society in which firemen light the fires to burn books. The perspective of the main character and fireman, Montag, on what is right changes after he meets Clarisse, a girl that does not conform to society. In the novel, Ray Bradbury’s use of rhetoric, though it is present, does not interfere with reading the book and is not necessary. Moreover, Bradbury’s themes in the novel show how our society is evolving, which is why the book is included in the sophomore curriculum.
Rhetorical Analysis Bradbury uses sentence structures, including, complicated sentences and asyndeton to show how Montag changes throughout the book. This quote shows Faber is able to recognize that people are being controlled by what the media says. The government wants it to be this way so people are not able to form their own independent thoughts that could disagree with the way they think it should
